I chose Lionel.

Lionel maybe wants to go to the party to get some new customers. He also wants to sell some of his goods to the other guests. But I don't think, he wants to get some friends there, maybe a one-night-stand but not more.

His goals are: keeping the crime level low, improving community relations, computer generated statistics to see the crime level in different parts of the city.

Kelly wants the police officers to stay in touch with der communities and find out their problems.

One part is that the crack and cocaine epedemy ended in the 1990s. The Junkies didn have to get criminal to be able to buy drugs. The other part was derived by the broken windows theory.

Thw police consultant says that they are not very far away from their tolerance. You also have to see it in relation. In the 1950s there where about 300 or 400 murders. In 1996 there where more than 1000 . And I think another reason is that there are many poor neighborhoods where the people do not have much many, so they have to become criminal to have some money. So they maybe kill someone while trying to hijack him.

Chapter 41

White Mike and Alice walk down the beach and Alice is telling Mike about her life. Suddenly she takes off her clothes and runs in the water. After a while she comes out crying, laughing and freezing to death everything at one time.

Chapter 40

White Mike has a nightmare. He's standing on the top of a skyscraper and a Thunderstorm is around. He wants to look down on the street but falls down. And he has this dream of falling that everybody knows. In the end he hits a car and sees himselve laying on the ground while the raindrops batter in aroind him.

Chapter 39

After the cocktail party Claude calls Tobias. They go to the shop in Chinatown again, where Claude bought his Katana. But tonight, theres not the old woman behind the counter. There's an old man now. Claude asks for "special products" and the old man closes the main entrance. He goes to a back room. After a while he comes back with an UZI in his hands. It's already used and worn down.

Chapter 38

White Mike is in his memories. He remembers a girl named Alice that lived on Long Island when he did,too. They sat behind the boathouse and Alice smoked some cigarettes while they disgussed about "the firsts", first time she tried weed, got drunk, drove, got sex. She asked Mike why he doesn't drink. He said he wouldn know.

Now he's on Eighty-sixth street to buy the Plague by Camus.

Chapter 37

I don't think it's effective to summarize this Chapter, because it's to short. So i'll copy it:

"By midnight Jessica has done all the Twelve she was saving for New Year's Eve. Shit, she thinks, when she wakes up later and hersheets are damp with sweat."

Chapter 36

Chris and Claude are on a coctail party. They smoked a joint together before. Now they realy seem to be hungry. So they eat a hole plate of salmon toasts. Claude does some Tequila shots. Their aunt introduces Marcelle to them, she's a novelist. They talk about music and talk about "imagine" by John Lennon and Yoko Ono and Marcelle says she realy likes the Beatles. Just Claude says they suck.

Chapter 35

White mike kind of philosophizes about death. He thinks what will happen to him and to everyone who dies.

Chapter 34

Chris is watching TV when a UPS guy comes. He delivers some boxes. Chris opens them and finds bells in them. They are gifts for Chris' mother's friends. After a while of playing the bells, Chris' arms get tired so he gets back watching TV.

Chapter 33

White Mike remembers of his mom's funeral. He hated the wig she wore. He would have prefered it to see her without any hair than see her like this.

Chapter 32

The forendic tests have identified the blood on Hunter's clothes as Nana's. So he gets arrested. In the cell he thinks about an alibi. He remembers an old con man who asked him for a couple of dollars. The way the guy cried and said two dollars, two dollars remembers Hunter of his father.

Chapter 31

Molly and Tobias got a date at Claude's house. Tobias shows Molly his piranhas after he told her he bought some pets. He gets a half-eaten chicken from the fridge and drops it into the fishtank. The piranhas eats it in 3 seconds.
He asks Molly if she wants to come to the open house party at New Year's Eve. She says she would come.

Note: is "Schäferhund" realy sheepdog or isn't it sheperd?

Chapter 29-30

"Molly"

Tobias sits at a model-adency when he meets Molly, another model of course.
She is sixteen and wears her jeans baggy, a turtleneck sweatshirt and Nikes without socks under it. She has brown hair and wears glasses. She is reading Ragtime by E. L. Doctorow.

Chapter 28

Normaly Charlie and White Mike flew to Florida each year. They paid thousands of dollars for it. But this year Charlie doesn't have the money. So he has to get it. He goes to his mothers room and takes one of her necklaces. He pawns it at "Angels's pawn shop" and bought a gun there, too.
When his mother comes back she calles a insurance company and fires her maid. But after a while Charlie tells his mom that he had pawned it, so she gets it back and sends Charlie to a boot camp.

Chapter 27

Hunter asks White Mike why he doesn't take drugs. And Mike says he doesn't even have the urge to try it.

Chapter 26

Jessica walks down fifth avenue swinging her shapely ass around. She's listening to music a boy burned for her.

Chapter 25

When Jessica hurries away, Lionel and Mike talk about Charlie, Mike's cousin. He is at the college but had to change school once. When Mike takes a cab he keeps thinking about his cousin. Charlie always lifes in his parents house in Tuskany for example.

Chapter 24

It's Mike remembering something again.
He walked to the kitchen at night. It was dark in the house. In the kitchen he took some cookies out of a cupboard and reached for a glass and got a champagner flute. He went to the fridge but opened it with closed eyes. He wanted to get some milk so he reached for a carton. It was filled and cold. When he filled the liquid in the flute and drunk something from it he recognized, that it was cranberry juice he got from the refridgerator. His mothers favorite drink.

note: cranberry is not "Preiselbeere" it's "Kranichbeere"

Chapter 23

White Mike and his dealer-friend Lionel are walking down Lexington to meet Jessica. She wants to buy some "Twelve" but Mike doesn't have some, so he called Lionel because he has it. Jessica buys five packets for thousand dollars.

Chapter 22

Sara wants to be locked as a girl that can make things happen. So she wants to throw a party.... in Chris' house. So she calls him and after a while she stands in front of his door, ringing the doorbell. When she comes in, she chats with Chris for a while and they talk about the party, but Chris doesn't agree with Sara's idea si she has to convice him. She slips her tongue into Chris' mouth he and reciprocates. After that, chris agrees to the party. But Chris only wants to have a small party. So Sara has to do something. She lookes at the bed saying, they could have some extra fun... additionally to the party.

Sara remembers, that her mother was born nine month after her grandmother was at a party just like this.

Chapter 21

When his mother died, he and his father relocated to another place. He came to his room and there where only some bookcases with books on it. Everything was haphazardly but it was that hot that he only stripped to his shorts and layed down on the floor because it was cooler down there.

Chapter 20

Andrew's room-neighbor is Sean, sara's boyfriend. Andrew has to stay in the hospital for six hours only, but in this time sara visits her boyfriend. He gets realy horny when he looks at her tight jeans.

Chapter 19

The girls are drinking a hot chocolate because of the shock. While that, Jessica calls Chris to get White Mike's mobile number. She wants to get some "Twelve".

Chapter 18

"The accident"

Jessica and her friends go ice-skating when Andrew, a gawky guy, slips and falls in front of Sara. She skates over his head and cuts his forehead. He lays on the ground bleeding and screaming.

Chapter 17

It is a kind of trip down memory lane.
It's about a day, Hunter, White Mike and Warren spend in Cantral Park together with their nanny when they where young. The nanny's name was Dorine.

Chapter 16

The investigating detective comes to Arturo and asks him about the night before, the night when Nana died. He says that Hunter would have made trouble and started fighting against Nana.
So the detective got Hunter's adress out of archive. When he found Hunter he saw the blood on his shirt so Hunter got arrested.

Homework for Tuesday (2008-03-04)

Claude: entering the kitchen Hey, bro!
Chris: sitting at the table Hey, what's up Claude!?
Claude: How was the party? there's much junk around here...
Chris: I'm gonna tidy up when my hang-overs gone okay? And the party was nice... where have you been?
Claude: well, i was hanging around with Tobias last evening. I came home very late, sorry.
Chris: It's okay. Come on, sit down now. I ordered some chinese food it's afternoon already.
Claude: Oh, nice! sitting down
Chris: Sara asked for you. Maybe you should call her.
Claude: Damnit... she was here?
Chris: Yes she was he smiles. What did you bring home with you? I heared something rettle around...
Claude: Oh... these where just some empty beercans...
Chris: Is that okay? What's about your rehab?
Claude: Calm down... just about 5 beers.
Chris: okay. Let's see, what Mom and Dad will say when they come back tomorrow.
Claude: Eat your noodles and shut up!

Saturday, December 28th

Chapter 15

White Mike looks back at his 10th-grade year, the year whena rapist was around in the Upper East Side.
He walks Megan home because of the rapist. Megan was in his ethics class.

Chapter 14

Chris finds Jessica passed out in his bathroom. He likes it because he doesn't look at a girl in this way very often.

Chapter 13

Mike did always like Samurai. Since he saw "shogun" when he was young he always thought about dying in honor. That's what the beginning of the chapter is about.
When Mike comes home he forces himself to whittle a little bird as a hobby.
After a while he does that with his expensive pocketknife, he goes to his room and sorts his weed.
